Then it occurred to me that most of June would be taken up by Ramadan and in July, I have another special announcement to make in relation to the Soulmates Saga. This summer will be the 5-year anniversary of the release of Chasing Pavements, book 1 in the saga and I'm going to celebrate that with... No, I'm not telling you yet :)
This post is to introduce my upcoming release, If I Say Yes.
It is the first in a duology. Yes, duology. A series comprising of two books. Not a trilogy or a saga. According to BookTube, duologies are really in at the moment. Apparently, duologies are the new trilogies. So, I thought I'd jump on that bandwagon ~ sometimes, you gotta follow the trends!
As the cover above hints, it is romance of the more light-hearted variety, hence the cover is very different to the ones in my Soulmates Saga. I wanted the cover to reflect that this is not as... serious as my other contemporary romance series, and the characters are not as troubled, tormented or complicated as Jamie in Mukti from the Soulmates Saga.
This was intentional. I wanted to write a new series that felt like a new series and read like a new series. I didn't want to write a different story with Jamie and Mukti as the main characters, but dressed up in different clothes, assigned different names and dumped into different situations. I wanted the characters in this series to be simpler, have fewer secrets and skeletons in their closets, to be more fun and light-hearted.
However, if you like to read about a troubled soul or two, don't worry, there are a couple of characters in this series that are haunted by their pasts......
The other thing I'm doing different with this book is that I'll be utilising Amazon's KDP Select platform, which makes the book free on Kindle Unlimited and available to borrow for those that use the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. It does mean that this book will only be available on Amazon, and not on iBooks or B&N Nook, at least not at first, but I think it's okay seen as it's a new series and not linked to any previous works of mine.
I've got seven books published already, but I've yet to try KDP Select and have been meaning to for some time now. The only reason I haven't so far, is because I'd initially used Smashwords as my distributor, which made my first three books (Chasing Pavements and Poison Blood, Books 1 and 2) available to iBooks and B&N Nook, and those books did well on those channels. It would have been unfair to make my later releases in those series exclusive to Amazon because my iBooks and Nook customers would have felt left out. They'd been very loyal readers and I wanted them to have access to the Poison Blood Series finale when I eventually published them last year, a series they went mad for in 2012 when I first launched them.
Plus, my existing books are doing better on iBooks and Nook than on Amazon, so it doesn't make sense for me to shut those channels out with any future releases related to works that are already available there. As a result, I don't think I'll be using KDP Select for any books linked to the Soulmates Saga and the Poison Blood Series. Not for an extended period of time, anyway. But the new Love & Alternatives series is completely independent to my previous books, so I can see how it does on Kindle Unlimited.
If it doesn't work out, I'll be able to make it available to the other retailers in the future.
It's available to pre-order from Amazon Kindle now and the release date is next Monday, May 15, 2017. Here are the links to the Amazon pages: Kindle US | Kindle UK
To wrap up this post, let's take a look at the blurb for this book:
If I Say Yes (Love & Alternatives, Book 1) ~ A Contemporary Romance Novel by Neha Yazmin
You know the story where the girl-next-door-type is getting married to a jerk – and she’s only marrying him because she’s given up on finding Mr. Right – only for the man of her dreams to walk into her life days before the wedding?
This is not that story.
How about the story where the girl is engaged to the nicest guy in the world, but the appearance of a mysterious hunk rocks her world off its axis and makes her wonder if she should select sexy instead of sweet?
This isn’t that story, either.
My story does however, include a man I’m going to marry and a man that…
You’ll find out soon enough.
An unexpected marriage proposal, the perfect fiancé and engagement party, and Shell is about to embark on a new chapter of her life. But as she prepares for her happy ever after, she discovers that there are people trying to sabotage her pending nuptials.
She just didn’t think one of them might be a stalker she never knew she had, and another to come in the form of Sebastian Lowe, her fiancé’s best friend!
Seb thinks he’s saving his childhood friend from marrying the wrong girl and will stop at nothing to get his way.
But as unforeseen circumstances force Shell and Seb to work together, will she be able to prove to Seb that he’s wrong about her? Or will Seb succeed in splitting the bride and groom apart forever?
Set in contemporary London, If I Say Yes (Love & Alternatives, Book 1) is a light-hearted romance that’s perfect for readers of chick-lit and novels about weddings, wedding crashers and secret fiancés.
